The new civil engineering requirements

The new civil engineering requirements
More people mean more facilities has to build, and more safety requirements beside the evolution of science gives us more technique and methods to build better constructions with less money and less time, Because of that civil engineering become more complicated and very vast field, needs from us to be always updated and ready for the new challenges.
There are many specialties within civil engineering and that maybe because it is the oldest types of engineering (Egypt pyramids for example).
Beside the civil engineer can hold many jobs and position in the community according to his experience or specialty (city engineer, design, research, teaching……).
It is for sure the world will need more good civil engineers because more building and infrastructure need to built or fix.
The influence of computer calculation and software is very considerable in civil engineering, and for sure it make it more easier for civil engineer to do there calculation in less time, less efforts and more accurate, and in these day I think there is no good engineer who didn’t know how to use AutoCAD, Word and Excel for example.
Some good software in civil engineering:
Plaxis, Geo-slop: geotechnical engineering
Sap2000, Robot: structural engineering
Ms Project, Primavera: Construction, project management
Autodesk civil 3D, Autopiste: transportation engineering
In general the most civil engineers are analytical (designers), organized (they have to finish the project in the time), creative, curious, detail-oriented and sociable (they have to work in a team), and many civil engineers has the leadership ability.
